2021 Year End RAHC Update

The Real American Hardwood Coalition (RAHC) has been busy this fall, and exciting plans are coming together for our industry-wide promotional efforts. The big news heading into 2022, is that the RAHC Board of Directors has selected CANVAS United, a renowned digital agency, to develop the consumer facing website, and we’re excited to report that work is currently underway.

CANVAS was selected from a group of seven candidate companies that submitted proposals, and they distanced themselves from the field for demonstrating a clear ability to convey a message visually and succinctly. They have significant experience working with commodity groups and are the creative brains behind the California Milk Processor Board’s powerful “Got Milk?” campaign. Visit GotMilk.com for a first-hand look at CANVAS’ ability to deliver a digital experience that’s designed to keep website visitors engaged. And make note of how their messaging brilliantly compares a “real” product to alternatives.

Recently, CANVAS presented their preliminary findings to the RAHC subcommittee that is overseeing the site development, and the committee was impressed with their talented team, as well as their grasp of our industry, messaging, and goals.

How can you help?

While Ohio has met their fundraising challenge goal, similar challenges are ramping up in Kentucky, Indiana, and elsewhere. The RAHC is asking for associations and companies to submit photos of how they are using the logo, regardless of whether it is on packaging, letterhead, trucks, or elsewhere. The more visible the logo is, the more effective the campaign will be once it hits consumer touch-points—especially retail outlets. Having the Real American Hardwood™ logo widely recognized will begin to influence consumer choices.

Don’t have the logo yet? Go to the industry website, www.RealAmericanHardwood.org, and click “Use the Logo” in the upper right corner. Various formats of the logo are available, along with usage guides, brand standards, and a social media guide.

The coalition continues to meet weekly and will continue to make presentations at association events. We are willing to spread the word wherever we are invited. We feel very good about how far we have come, we appreciate those member companies who have offered financial support, and we are confident that we are producing a campaign that will truly move the needle.
